2/1/2024 - On behalf of Black History Month: I thank Ruby Bridges for her bravery and her obedience and cooperation with her mom as she became the first black child to integrate an all-white elementary school. She represented us well. You go little Ruby!!!
So now, MY LITTLE BLACK GIRL has many more education options and opportunities than there were before. Growing up, I never went to the same school more than 2 years in a row. (military Dad) I always hated being the new girl! But my daughter has been brave going to a new school recently. She's been resistant and crying, but brave and resilient. I'm SO proud of her!!!

2/2/2024 - Today, I thank Helen Octavia Dickens who earned her medical degree in 1934 and was the only Black woman in her graduating class. 11 years later, in 1945, Dickens became the first Black woman to receive board certification in obstetrics and gynecology. Woo hoo! So the kick-butt ladies in the photo under her are all obstetricians at Women's Physician Group and they all supported me with delivering my newest baby. πβΊοΈπ
