Walking Into My 40's with Prayer, Praise, and Power
As I reflect over my 30’s, (and I mean the entire decade), it was filled with so many tears and so much hurt, pain, and grief. I fought years of suicidal depression, isolation, loneliness, and many mental and spiritual battles. So I decided that I wanted to walk into my 40's with prayer, praise, and power, (which there's power in prayer and praise). I wanted all of the beautiful ladies in my life who have been there for me, prayed with me, listened to me, heard my cries, given advice, supported, and loved me to pray with me and over me. I invite all who come to this page to do this same, and to tailor this prayer to you and/or others you love as well.
I trust God will answer us according His promises and the scriptures below:
- James 5:16: The prayer of a righteous person has great power and works effectively.
- Matthew 21:22: Whatever you ask for in prayer, you will receive if you have faith.
- 1 John 5:14-15: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us and gives us what we ask
- Philippians 4:6-7: Do not worry. Instead, pray and give thanks to make your requests known to God. His peace will guard your heart.
- 1 Peter 5:7: Cast all your worries on Him because He cares for you.
Matthew 18:19-20 “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”

Dear Holy Father Who Art in Heaven, Our Most High Yah,
Thank You so much for my first forty years!
I submit all of my heartache and pain to You. Please help me to stop carrying what only You can carry.
Please help me to stop carrying what only You can carry.
Create in me a clean, pure, and steadfast heart- one that lets go of all the unforgiveness -one that forgives others as You forgive me.
Help me to let go of any resentment without letting go of the wisdom that came from the lessons I’ve learned from heartache and hardships.
Restore everything in me that the enemy has been working to take away.
Be a fence all around me and allow no weapons formed against me to prosper.
Expose all lies meant to stop, hinder, or tear me down.
I rebuke the lies of my past and I surrender every regret from my past to You.
Remind me daily that my worth has never been determined by my accomplishments, failures, titles, or the opinions of others. My identity is found in You alone. Thank You that I am loved, chosen, and enough because I belong to You.
Help me to DAILY notice everyday miracles and blessings, no matter how busy, hectic, or unpleasant the day may be, and faithfully give You the praise You deserve each day.
Let me be productive and prosperous in all my endeavors, especially the book projects I am working to complete. Let all of my books and projects point people to You.
Help me be the mother my children need.
Give me peace that isn't dependent on productivity or things going my way.
I know and proclaim that everything I went through in my thirties was preparing me for what lies ahead, and preparing me to become a better, stronger, wiser woman.
And if it be Your will, let my forties be my most joyful, fruitful, and peaceful decade yet. Whatever lies ahead, help me trust You, glorify You, and remain faithful through it all.
